Great fun!

Hello girls! It is sad that reunion is over and we all had to go back to our real lives. It took me all week to get caught up on all the work I blew off getting ready for the weekend. I hope everyone had a great time. I noticed how nice it was, Sat. Night at Laurel and on Sunday at Kate's, when we could sit down and really chat together. I think we should keep that idea in mind for our next plan. Whether we meet somewhere (like the beach) where we could just hang- out, or whether we gather at someone's house here in town- it seemed to be the most quality fun together!
anyways- It was great to catch up with everyone and I'm left feeling like we really were so luck to have such a close, cool group of women!
Have an awesome Memorial Day Weekend! We're off to DC to visited friends- bye- em

I'm in the paper!

My FileSlinger™ Backup Blog is mentioned in an article in today's San Francisco Chronicle. This is very exciting for me (much as I might like to be blase about it and pretend this kind of thing happens to me all the time), but if you go by that article, you'll think I'm in Emeryville, home of Pixar. Emeryville is only about 5 miles away, but I actually live in El Cerrito. (The online version of the article has now been corrected, but there's no help for the printed one.)

The Chronicle article is written by Ilana DeBare, author of Where Girls Come First, a book about girls schools and therefore a subject close to the heart of Laurel alums.

Got to get back to work now—after weeks of slow business, everything seems to be happening at once.

While I'm here, though, I just wanted to show everyone that Gumby is still with me. He's followed me to Providence, to Ann Arbor to England, and now to California.

Laurel Class of 85 Reunion

Hey y'all. I have no idea how to do this bloggin' stuff but i'll take a stab at it. Good to hear from you Sallie. And who is that from Florida? This is Lauren, Laurie, Burkie, whatever. I am coming probably friday morning from good ole Detroit Michigan. I plan to attend just about all of the scheduled festivities. It's been 20 years for god sakes! The laurel weekend will be the weekend after my husband's 20 yr. reunion in NY so I might be a bit worn out. Cya.

Laurel Class of 85 Reunion

From Florida

20 years is a long time, and I've been here nearly the entire time. I am flying in to Cleveland on 5/19 with Kelli O'Brien (mmeting her in Orlando) and we'll be staying at Mary & Bill Wilkinson's. We'll probably attend every function since we're both starved for Laurel life... well, not really, but we're definitely looking forward to seeing our fellow classmates. See everyone soon...

Looking back at my role as Spock in our class skits (and my current work, for that matter) I guess it makes sense that I should do the geeky thing and start a Laurel Class of 1985 Reunion blog.

This way even those who can't make it to the reunion can still catch up on what we've been doing for the last 20 years, which events we're planning to attend, and so on.

I hope you’ll take the time to join and post at least a brief update and any plans you have for attending. I’m flying into Cleveland on April 19^th, myself, and still trying to decide how much time to spend doing reunion things and how much time to spend with my family.

As for the “In 20 Years”—I am in California, but I drive a Geo Prizm, and El Cerrito is a good ways north of Venice Boardwalk
